Practice Note: Incorrect Quantities Under the New UAE Civil Code
This Practice Note is the practical companion to our In-House Brief on incorrect quantities under the new UAE Civil Code. It is written for Contractors and Subcontractors working under UAE onshore law on the FIDIC Red Book, 1999 edition.
It sets out what to do about errors in the Bill of Quantities before contract, during the works and when a claim arises, for both re-measured and lump sum contracts. It covers Articles 828 and 829 of the Civil Transactions Law, the new notice requirement for any excess over the bill total, and what a notice should say.
